The Ship:

MS Maasdam was designed for speciality cruising. Elegantly appointed and completely refit in 2011, she’s large enough for comfort but small enough to visit ports that can’t accommodate bigger vessels. She boasts a live cooking theater, an antique display, WiFi hotspots and innovative speciality bars and restaurants. More formal than some other lines, this trip will have two formal nights where you can show off your finest. MS Maasdam Deck Plans

The Ports:

Because the ship is smaller, we’ll be docking in every port except Bar Harbor which will require tenders. Walk off the ship and explore local architecture or sign up for a tour and head into the wilderness.

The College of Curiosity Experience:

When you travel with the College of Curiosity, you get much more than a cruise. You’re instantly part of a group of like-minded travelers who want to do a little bit more than lay by the pool. After introductions and activities the first night, we’ll meet every dinner for puzzles and stories, and on days at sea we’ll meet in a private room for informative presentations and demonstrations. Other activities will be scheduled around group interests. A custom daily newsletter will appear under you door each day, and you’ll have access to your own experienced concierge for the entire voyage. By the time it’s done, you’ll have not only seen new places, you’ll have made new friends, and been given some new things to think about.

  1. Some folks are getting into Boston the night before. There will be some sort of optional activity for folks who arrive early, and maybe something the morning before we depart.

  2. Regarding the Friday before @ Hotel.. –
Is there a place we could drop off our luggage for the trip ?
I’ll be working in Boston, that Friday the 23rd, and could meet up for After Work, to Evening Activities.

    • I’ve been thinking about that, but I’m not sure about leaving luggage. We will have something going on Friday night, but I’m not sure what do do about luggage. I’ll mention that in the e-mail I’m going to send.

  3. Any more info on what’s happening the night before?

As I mentioned – Is there a hotel in Boston you are staying at, where we could leave the bags for the night? — If so, we might be able to come into Boston cheaper on the T the next day.

If we come in Saturday, give the Boat leaves at 4pm, when do we need to be there?
I need to check on Taxi / Limo / Van service if we’re coming in Saturday w/ Bags etc.
If we came in early, Saturday, can the bags be left at the Pier, tagged for the Cruise of course ?

    • I sent an e-mail to everyone, but in brief, we don’t have a group hotel anywhere. We’ll be having a cocktail party the night before, and I’m looking at the possibility of a walking tour on the day before the trip. (All included).
