8 Nights: June 29 – July 6, 2017
Arrive any time on this date, and spend the night on the ship. We’ll be spending the night in Stockholm, so feel free to enjoy the nightlife and treat your cabin like a harbor front hotel room.
Day 2, June 30
Enjoy the day in Stockholm (with special College of Curiosity content) and be back on board by 3:00 for our 5:00 sailing.
Day 3, July 1
Arrive in Finland’s capital city of Helsinki just in time for lunch. Feeling adventurous? How about some Kalakukko? No, well you have to try the Leipäjuusto. Not hungry? How about a trip to the Fortress of Suomenlinna?
Day 4, July 2
In Soviet Russia, Leningrad tours you. Fortunately for us there is no Soviet Russia anymore, just the welcoming city of St. Petersburg greeting you as enjoy breakfast on board. With dozens of museums and historic churches to explore, you’ll find amazing things no matter the weather. Or simply stroll around the city’s 400 year old streets and imagine you’re back in Imperial Russia.
Day 5, July 3
Awake to views of the important cargo port of Muuga, gateway to the singing city of Tallinn in Estonia. One of the best preserved medieval cities in all of Europe, it’s a mixture of new and old as 13th century streets lead to very 21st century businesses. This is a strollers city, as architecture buffs adore the Old Town and everyone can search for “Old Thomas” in the city’s ornamentation.
Day 6, July 4
Lunch in Latvia? Sure! No one knows what the name Riga means, but it’s been a hot spot since 1201. They’re proud of their hockey, and their history. Perhaps a trip to the Latvian Ethnographic Open Air Museum is in order, or would you prefer the historic opera house? You’ll be welcome either way.
Day 7, July 5
Whew. Five ports in five days. Time for a rest and some College of Curiosity activities on board our floating resort. No ports today, but you can sleep late and catch up with the rest of the group.
